What We Believe

What We Believe

We believe in one true and living God, who exists in three persons: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit—co-equal, co-eternal, and of the same divine nature and essence. He reigns sovereign over all creation and is glorious in His deity, holiness, and unfailing love.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully divine and fully human. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, and rose from the grave with all power in His hands. Through Him, we have forgiveness, redemption, and eternal life. He is the sustainer of all creation, and in Him, all things consist.

We believe in the personality and deity of the Holy Spirit, who is the divine presence of God at work in the world today. Through His power, He regenerates unbelievers, leading them to repentance, faith, and newness of life. He actively indwells every believer, enabling a life of godliness, transforming us into the likeness of Jesus Christ, convicting of sin, comforting in trials, empowering for service, leading in all truth, and sustaining us by His power until the day of Jesus Christ.

We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God. It is our foundation for faith and life, guiding us in righteousness, wisdom, and truth.

We believe that humanity was created in the image of God, designed for relationship with Him and entrusted with stewardship over creation. However, since Adam’s fall, all humanity is sinful by nature, separated from God, subject to His righteous judgment, and in need of salvation—found only through Jesus Christ.

We believe that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone, our all-sufficient Savior and the only mediator between God and humanity. It is a gift from God—unearned and undeserved—made possible through Christ’s sacrificial death on the cross. Through repentance and faith, we are forgiven, made new, and given the promise of eternal life.

We believe that the Church, the body of Christ, is made up of all true believers in the Lord Jesus, joined together by covenant faith and the fellowship of the Gospel. Every believer has a vital role in God’s Kingdom, using their diverse gifts to glorify Him and build up one another. Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church and will one day return for His bride—holy and unblemished.

At Piney Grove Baptist Church, our beliefs are more than just words—they shape how we live, worship, and serve. We invite you to grow in faith, connect in fellowship, and walk boldly in the power of God.

Join us as we live out the Gospel, love like Jesus, and shine His light in the world!
